We are currently living in Florida and planning to move to the Canary Islands later this year. My wife is a medical doctor and we like to find out what the working conditions are for physicians in the Canary islands. It will be a deciding factor wheter it will be easy for her to find a suitable position in the medical field. My wife speaks 4 languages including spanish, english, french and portugese. Any imput would be greatly appreciated.:thumb:

Firstly she needs to get all her qualifications recognized and homologized by the dept of education in madrid. Recognition took my husband about 6 month but with alot of hassle and input in the end from the uk government. Homologization takes a couple of years but you can work whilst waiting for it.
There is work here. It depends, i suppose on her speciality. Within the NHS here the doctors pay is relatively poor in comparison with the Uk and probably the states. And they work long hours etc
There is a new private hospital that has opened in Meloneras - San Roque - that was having difficulties obtaining doctors. So it may be worth contacting them.
