Hi, the one thing that is really started to really annoy me is the postal service out here, does anyone else experience problems?
Friends and family have posted things over a month ago and still nothing:veryangry: I have been to the post office but they simply shrug their shoulders and smile. Has anyone got any suggestions because it is driving me potty now:angry: :veryangry:

The only thing you can do is having it sent by registered Post. It is a little more expensive, but it can be traced at any time by the register number. We have had similar Problems with unregistered Post, but since then we have all important things and packages sent registered.

There are stories of post people dumping stuff in rubbish bins or just 'forgetting'to post stuff. Meet your postie and be nice to him/her - it does help.
As the townhall likes to change road names and house numbers to keep everyone on their toes!!!! - its a good idea to have a post box at the post office. Then if the postie is having a bad day he doesnt have too far too walk

Posting from G:C: to the UK. always send by (certificado express) you fill in a form and you get the back of it back for a reciept stamped by the post office. and it always arrives in 3 days flat. has to be signed for at the other end in the UK. Done it many times and never been disapointed.
not cheap but at least it gets there.
The other way uk to here. I would presume to do the same and youll have no trouble. From what ive heard just a stamp on it and it takes about 3 weeks or just never gets there.(from gc to uk)and vice versa.

yes Mary you are quite right. also im used to getting someone elses post whilst they always get mine, (we are the same number,) but different village name, Recently the whole of playa mogan, all the way up the valley. right to pueblo mogan, all got there house numbers changed, and some street names were changed in playa mogan,
we just woke up one morning and saw a number stuck on the front of our house wall. That was our new house no completely different. My friend phoned theyd changed hers to no 13. Its a good job shes not bothered. i would have been id have been in tears at that. Its been an ordeal notifying. the bank, insurance companies, electric, water, traffico and so on.and even my residentia address is wrong now.And as you know having to get paperwork sorted here takes a looooooong time anyway.
but still love it here, these things are sent to try us and keep us all on our toes

PO boxes are usually more reliable, especially in the tourist areas.
