Where was your best ever holiday to date and why was it so special?

Mine was in the Dominican Republic staying all inclusive in the Coral Costa Caribe. http://www.coralbyhilton.com/costa/PhotoGallery.shtm#acc

My first (and only) time so far that I've been to the Caribean and absolutely everything about it was perfect. Think it's pretty much geared up for American tourists who expect higher standards than many of us Brits so it met all expectations and more.

Really relaxing, magnificant weather, good food.

Apologies if a similar thread to this has been done before!

well apart from numerous which have been fabulous i would have to say a skiing holiday last year to Borovets in Bulgaria, reason being i have wanted to do it from an early age, watched it for years on the tv so was just a total buzz, never seen so much snow in me life and scenery awesome, im sure any members who have been skiing will know why it is just the best time

Puerto Rico never disappoints when all I want is to be really lazy, greedy and drunk, but I loved my holiday in Nice this year for scoff, shopping and people watching. We've also just had our first trip to New York which was amazing, topped off by Barbra Streisand at Madison Square Garden. What an occasion!

Very similar as yours , it was in St Thomas in the US Virgin Islands totally 100% caterred fro the yanks and canadians , and when all the drinks are named , not local brands and whatever you wanted and lobster and steaks on the AI all the time couldnt wish for anything else , apart from teh views http://www.wyndham.com/hotels/STTSB/main.wnt Tobago was the second best

3 weeks fly / drive in South Africa. Cape Town & surrounding areas - the cape itself where the 2 oceans meet, beaches & penguin beach, Table Mountain spectacular scenery, plants etc. - wine lands, then drive on to stay at spa at Montagu, Knysna, George trip on the Oootenooga Choochoo steam train, down the Garden Route through their lake district with lakeside stay, Platenburg, (funny seeing Ostrich being herded down the roads like cattle), cheetah farms / reserve - Port Elizabeth - flew to Jo'burg then on to Kruger National Park for 4 day Safari at the top notch private Mala Mala game reserve - unbelievable night & day safari trips - big game you could almost touch (& have no hand left if you did) - we had same guide as Maggie Thatcher had. Then onto Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe & trip over the falls in a chopper from Zambia side plus river trip amongst the Hippos

Sounds absolutely fantastic Nigbo!! Sure I would enjoy something like that.

Never been to Africa (though been close - canaries obviousy) - really fancy doing similar one day.

Bluemoonsteve - Think it was Hector Nicol who said he went to the Canaries and never saw a Canary so next year he was going to the Virgin islands. :DSounds Fab Steve - Think I'm approaching the age whereby I'd like to go on a cruise and see loads of different places on the one holiday. Carribean Cruise would be superb.

Mharie - Nice would have been nice! ;) Yeah fancy that too. Never been to the US - kinda been put off a lot by the way they are portrayed in films and the media. Though met and worked with quite a lot and they not like that at all. Best mate been to many places in the US and said it's fantastic - he absolutely loved New York and Chicago though says to steer clear of touristy places like Florida as don't get a real taste of America.

Stu1 - good on you mate - nothing like fulfilling an ambition. I'd LOVE the scenery for sure though I'm too much of a sun worshipper to go a holiday in the snow. Maybe if I get to the stage whereby I can have loads of holidays in the one year or I get really fed up with the sun. Right now my holidays are more about chilling out and de-stressing rather than new experiences or a hunger for new experiences and action. But total respect to you Stu. Bulgaria seems to have a hell of a lot to offer and getting a load more tourists year on year! Heard they've got a "Sandy" beach - reckon I'd feel at home there. ;)

Rab C - Just you rub it in mate - you know I want to go back in May for the bash. Where can I get Easter Eggs? ;)

I like the Maldives. I suppose Bluemoon is going to moan at me again, but I dont care, I know you find it boring but I like getting away from it all sometimes and there is nowhere more beautiful in my mind.
Anyway Steve, it's alright for you, you get plenty of boredom, watching Man city. lol.

Hopefully will be Nevis, near St Kitts when I go in February for the big birthday. If not, I will be really disappointed.
