for years this forum has been very informative and always used to be a good laugh. it just seems that now very few have a laugh and when they do people jump down their throats. for instance i make a joke to someone who i have known years and they get pm's saying u should report him for having a go at u. if i want to call shortie, rab, libbyo, loz etc etc something i will. they are my mates. yes some of us have been friends on here and in real life for 8 odd years and i class them as good friends.
what i cant stand is people who use an alias to cause trouble and hide behind the fact they can say what they want hidden on here , where in real life they are probably walking around like a scared little rabbit.

so who agrees we should all have some fun and make this forum a place with tons of info but also tons of fun.

even if we disagree on issues there is no need to go into name calling etc

p.s i will be honest there are 2 members who i do have a severe problem with not because they disagree with my views but because off certain cowardly hiding behind their pc crap they have posted. but hey if they are such loyal tourists to rico sure i will bump into them at some point.

Well said Russ, this is a useful site but recently people have begun to snipe at other people ending up with topic's being closed and arguments rolling out of control.

I have begun to get to know people in person from here and everyone I have met has been great, lets not let the odd one's ruin a great forum.

To be honest i don't DO the forum as much as i use to, because everytime i, or anyone tried to inject a little bit of humour , we got jumped on and i got a bit fed up with it. I guess what Russ is saying is that one or two who have left, have come back under another name.I am not up to date with the forum, so i don't really know whom he refers to.....

Hi all!!
Been comin in here for a short while (compared to you lot!) and have visited other PR sites with forums such as these, yet have always found myself returning here because of the sense of comradery and respect you all have for new members, and those not so new! So all those who have trouble with you lot must not have all that to complain about outside here.
So... to end out, keep up the good work and hope to meet up whenever we're back in PR. Maybe in Tiffs...:D

All this recent bickering and bad feeling between certain individuals is a direct result of the lack of community facility (i.e. shoutbox). For years we all had a great craic talking between ourselves at the same time online! Although we all know that the safety of this site is "paramount" it's high time this touchy subject was reviewed. Some members in the recent get together discussed the current situation and all agreed sadly there is something missing compared to the old times before the scum out there hacked this marvelous facility!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i say lets make it fun again. I admit i dont come on here as much as i used to because of the bickering and bitching.

I personally find the banter entertaining and i have no problem with anyone that i class as a friend taking the mick out of me, or calling me names in the name of fun. In fact, its what makes me keep coming to this site instead of going on a boring no fun forum.

MAKE IT FUN AGAIN.

ps. 24 hours to go Rusty, you big bald southern fairy LMFAO

yes there are a few individuals posting under aliases and are posting just for the sake of causing trouble and it is the same ones that tried it all before and as i have said in another thread they tried before they are trying now and they will try in the future and they will never ever succeed in bringing this forum down.russ knows who they are i know who they are and they know we know who they are and i can go back to the original owen 100 forum on this
there are only a few of the regular members i have not met but will meet soon as for all the others I have met this i will say you will never ever meet nicer friendly people and we really all look forward to our jollybags to meet up with one another again. last year my wife and i were also lucky to be invited to the gci forum day out in pdi with the mods members and their own cheftain o the puddin race and had a fantastic day with them and thats how it should be.
its not really a case of personality clashes or grievances between members because if you look at the abusive type posts when they hit the forum it is always around the newbies or new aliases first few posts that it happens and if you check the member out you will find they never seem to put any positive post in or any good points always bad.

below is a wee reminder of the famous rab_c. dancing banana from the old shoutbox lets put the fun back again

Well i think you should all stop being so ¨bloody serious¨ on this site.A forum is not only for useful information but more importantly it should be ¨Fun¨ and ¨humerous¨(let me supply that bit viewers)Life is far to short to be ¨attacking¨ each other. We are all different in many ways, but take some good advice and like me you should value ¨the simple things in life¨ a friend once told me ¨we all enter the world with ¨bugger all¨ and leave it with ¨bugger all¨ (it´s true when you think about it)
So ¨lighten up¨ and have some fun..........!
I would like to point out that i am ¨only¨ on this site for ¨a bit of fun¨ and ¨a laugh¨ and i just love ¨winding you all up¨.....(have you noticed?)
So don´t take it all ¨too seriously¨ will you viewers.........

marcus how could we survive without you and your humourous fruity weather reports.
and also your laid back view of life as the saying goes laugh and the world laughs with you weep and you weep alone.
but sadly ther are a few members being bullied and harrased on here and as you know that is one of the reasons our great friend blondane is no longer on here plus a few others
its not a case of overeacting to certain numptys but a few good members have been lost to the idiots posting under various aliases no doubt when they are all weeded out the forum will return to being a joy to be part of once more and lets not forget this is owens bread and butter, imagine possible customers coming on and viewing some of the abusive posts that have been admitted recently what will be their view a quick exit I would imagine and lost revenue
we even lost our fav. communicator the shoutbox to another sad numpty who hacked the system and destroyed the old forum so its no wonder that members are being as you put it bloody serious.
its easy for us to come and go on here but lets not forget the hard work put in by owen and members to put the forum back to such a high level again and they are not going to sit and watch the aliases trying to destroy it again with needless negative posts a forum is an online discussion group where participants with common interests can exchange open messages (common interests speaks for itself.
so rant over viewers I am now going to sit and have a lovely tray of grapes.
be happy.

Hi Russ hope you guys are well?

I totally agree with your comments, I remember not so long ago I would sit on the chat room for hours talking to you loz and a few others, but then things just went down hill and as loz said in an earlier post there seemed to be bickering and bitching, so I dont come on as often as I used to, so the challenge for you babe is to get the ball rolling and get the party started!

PS Bring back the shoutbox!!!!!!! Please.

If we all joined MSN messenger and gave each other access it would be like the shoutbox as you can all chip into one big conversation. You can just log at the same time as logging onto the forum and if you spot others on you want to talk to just invite them into your convo. Jobs a good un:D

I tried to organize this a while ago but got confused, even asked Owen for a little help. Maybe someone else could help. Sounds like a good idea to me.

Hey Shortie - surely be better if it was in some way connected to the Canary Forum though - otherwise could see a massive decline in what's happening here on the forum and no-one really wants that do they?

Any chat room would have to have max security...obviously. I know of a few really good ones.

Owen - if it's something that is wanted by the members and if you haven't got the time/resources etc to set it all up then I could set it up at a www.canaryforumchat.com website.

I'd be happy to go halfers with you for the cost per anum - around £50 each - and I'd be happy to administer it provided I had the help and support of such people as Rab C, Russ and Karen for starters.

I've mentioned the above people because they are level headed, sensible and a whole lot of fun - in fact a real credit to the forum!

Never mind me though Owen - there's a huge assortment of skilled people out there that would gladly help take the forum forward.

The MSN idea is obviously a good idea by Shortie for those that have already became friends and for them all to stay in touch. Especially if....as it seems.... its the the preferrred method.

The Canary Forum is absoluteluy magic!!! I love it, as indeed many others do. However, it's got to keep moving forward and satisfying the demands of its members otherwise they'll move on!

I'll certainly help in any way that I can as indeed I get the impression the above mentioned people would!

Rab C for one should at very least be a super-duper moderator - he's got the utmost respect from everyone on here - he's honest and he's fair, he's a real person with bags of common sense. Everybody understandably loves Rab - he's a credit to himself and to the Canary Forum!

Rab 4 Super - Duper Mod - check out the post.............comin very soon!
