My son has been to Sharm El Sheikh, he is going again in the morning for a fortnight.
Last time he stayed at Hilton Sharks Bay, this time he is staying at Dreams Beach Resort on El Sid Hill about three miles from the centre of Sharm, Naama Bay.
The weather is mid to high thirties July-September, dropping to low thirties in May and October.
The snorkelling is excellent in the many bays in around Sharm. The waters are calm so its ok for the kids to play in the sea just off the coral. He told me that the variety of fish was amazing, so many different colours and there are hundreds.
Eating out is cheap. You have many options, obviously egptian, lebanese and the good old McDonalds, KFC and Hard Rock Cafe amongst other things.
There are plenty of taxis also. They are safe to use, just remember to haggle the price down. The driver will act a chauffeur, my son used the same one for the duration of his holiday last time.
He said its better to take sterling and change your money out there as you get a much better rate.
I'm sure you will have a really good time.

By the way, jellyfsh.....
Yes, there are jellyfish but they are not dangerous so you will be fine. He said that he never seen one whilst he was snorkelling.

I think you will LURV sharm.
My wife & I went there in Feb this year for 1 week but during the 2nd day she commented that she wished we had booked for a fortnight.
Naama Bay is the place for nightlife although it's not like PR. We found the Camel Dive Bar to be great as well as Hard Rock Cafe.
We booked all inclusive but out of our 7 nights we went into naama bay 5, what a waste of AI and I feel I could have asked for a partial refund because we never took advantage of the free dinks & food.
There are jellyfish, some the size of dinnerplates but they are harmless. It's the small ones that sting but it's supposed to be like a nettle sting and not too bad.
I can send you some photos if you want to PM me with your e-mail address. That's the way I found things out before we went. I got lots of advise, tips and even photos sent and everybody I contacted were only too happy to help. I found that by not going to Egypt 'blind' was very helpful because I knew what to expect & what was expected of us when we arrived.
All you have to do is contact me & I will pass on anything to help you.
Regards,
Nutjackuk
