hi there
Me and my friends are heading off to Cyprus in 5 weeks time and was wondering if anyone could recommend places to go, things to see etc.
We are staying at the Damon apartments in Paphos.
Thanks in advance

Paphos is a big favourite of mine, have been 4 times. I don't know the Damon apartments though. Make sure you hire a car and go up into the Troodos Mountains. You pass thru some lovely small villages, make sure you stop and sample the local delights, the locals will really make you welcome. Driving is easy out there. A drive to Latchi & Polis is also very scenic and nice quiet resorts. A restaurant I can highly recommend in Paphos is Edelweiss, good food, surroundings and service.
If you want bars & noise that is there as well.
Have a great Hol.

I got married in Paphos by the Mayor (bit of trivia there for you)!
Best bet like Shytot says is to get a car and head out. There is a fab new waterpark in Paphos which is worth a look at too.

Unfortunately we are a bunch of pathetic girls so we won't be able to hire a car as none of us would be willing to drive over there.
We might go to the water park though - that sounds good.
Do you know how far it is from Paphos to Aya Napa? Could we go there for a night out?

No problem driving over there as they drive on the same us as us, and all road signs are the same as ours.
Its a fair old way to Aya Napa from Paphos. You may be better going to Limasol. As to Paphos itself there are plenty of lively Bars.

We went to Cyprus some years ago and found it to be really dusty and dirty, the water park is a must as it can get really hot there. The people tend to be very anti tourists and not like here, my sister owns a holiday home out there and finds it difficult to be excepted even though she is married to a cypriot. Everyone is different though and some hate here and others love it all down to personal choice.

I love Cyprus, paphos is really lovely, and from my experience the people are VERY friendly, i never found anyone anti tourist.
We went back after 5 yrs and went into a pub we always used and the owner remembered us and couldnt have been more friendly, cant wait to go back again.
Im sure you will have a great time

Ive heard from many friends that the locals make the Tourists very welcome, whether its their job to get the custom or its just their happy nature.
My preference is the Canaries, majorca, Minorca, but have also been to places like, Turkey, Tunisia, Crete etc. I have found the Locals of these Islands to be very welcoming, friendly and polite.
You just enjoy ure hols Millieanmolly.
