Hi

Need to pick some brains please..........A friend of our's that is a lorry driver has offered to move our furniture for us when we move out there (save on removal costs) How difficult is it for a man who can to do this rather than a removal firm? What is the distance from Gatwick area to GC? What route would he take? What ferry would he get on to cross from mainland Spain to GC? How do I find out ferry costs? How do you deal with customs? what forms would I need? etc etc etc the list goes on.

Any info would be greatly received as alway's.

:thankyou:

Ferry goes from Cadiz and costs around 400 pounds for a car. Is it P and O? or Transmediterrano that do the ferry. Look at their site for prices. he'll have to drive through France and spain to the bottom. Not difficult

My brother in law brought some of my furniture over in a transit van, you will be surprised just how much you can get in one of those when you pack it like thoe Russian dolls. One thing inside the other.
He got ferry across the channel and then drove through France and Spain, got route off AA route master. To Cadiz.
Ferry (Transmediterrania) from Cadiz to LP. Ferry took 3 days and drive took 2 days. Ferry price depends on size of vehicle and no of passengers. (Dont forget he has to go back with his vehicle Lol)
He didnt have any problems, just drove off the ferry and on to my apartment. I didnt fill any forms in or anything. No problem with customs. If he had been stopped he was going to say they were personal items of mine. Dont know how that goes down with the customs here but as it didnt happen who knows??

I think in all it cost about 1000 pounds.

there was a guy on ebay looking for a load to take out to GC in a large transit type van - but no longer on ebay - so guess he's already travelled over there

Using trasmediterranea:
It will be approx. 1000 - 1600 Euro back and forth dependent on the size of the vehicle etc.
Takes one and a half day each way.

Wish you a good move:nodding:
