Don`t know why I am writing this, probably just because there is nothing else I can do about it. Or is there¿ (¿¿¿Spanish mistake)

In Maspalomas where I now live, I wake up at about 7 and hear a dog barking nearby. He barks, or so it seems, all day and long into the night and it is also the last thing I hear, going to sleep. It is not in the bungalow area where I am, since there are only a few and dogs not allowed, but I haven't been around to find out, am afraid that I would just hear it somewhere, locked inside, or outside in a garden, don't know, but I wonder if I should try to find out and leave the owners a message?¿

Also, I thought I would let you know, that I wrote an email to someone advertising in RTN (for petsitting and petwalking) wanting further information, now twice, and no reply. Same as with the computer people I emailed to who advertise in Tips and Info. Got a reply from one of them, saying thank you for your message etc. will reply shortly.... well, I have got myself a good one through a friend. It is just annoying when people advertise and then don't reply, not even with a "sorry, no can do"!!

Better turn up the music and try not to think of the barking dog for a while.

There is nothing more distressing than to hear a dog barking all day like that. Our dog was hardly ever on her own & had a happy long life. We have neighbours that leave their dogs all day & it breaks my heart to hear them whining & barking. Even on the bitter cold days they were out in the garden all day. Interesting enough the RSPCA were not interested. Maybe I'm a little more sensitive right now - but it seems such a pity that they are left like that.

the spanish seem to have dogs just for guarding the house. they dont seem to be cruel to them , they just dont feel the way we do. A dog is not always stressed when barking i have been told that a dog has the ability to bark 24-7 with no affect to its voice box, it has something in its throat that lets them do this.
How ever my chihuahuas are with me all the time, they bark more here than i would let them in the uk as the locals dont seem to care, we've asked them and there not bothered!i think its an english thing, kids make a lot of noise as do dogs.
i think people should take them in at night though.you could try sending a note through the door, with this message.
Por Favor, seria posible que su perro no ladre por las noches?
se que es dificil pero no nos deja dormir,
Gracias !!
we had a simular problem when we first moved here, it took a few notes to sink in. give it whirl!!!!!

The spanish have more respect for dogs than humans !! I have regular discussions with my inlaws about dogs barking - a total waste of time. It's their culture. All I can suggest is..........move house.
