fag lighters ?

Ok this is the first time my mum is going abroad , she tells me that she can take a fag lighter with her on the plane she was told this by people who have done this , this cant be true can it , i mean ive been away quite a few times but with me being a non-smoker i dont take any notice ..

I know that when all the airport restrictions started my wife had to throw her lighter into a bin before we got to the x-ray machine. Must say that we’ve not notice if the restriction has been lifted on cigarette lighters the last time we were abroad.

Have just come back from Italy and took my lighter through both stanstead airport and Rome Ciampino airport no problems it was in my hand luggage.

Would'nt bother taking one on the plane, by "SOME" over there. Deaf & dumb guy that works the bars over there is a "genuine" guy raising money for a very charitable cause. His stocks of re-chargable lighters change with every trip, very cheap as well. He just silently walks around the bars with his "I.D" placed on the bar tables along with his products. Although I've never really smoked I always buy a couple off him as gifts for smoking friends back home, please support him, many of you regular visitors will know him !!!!

Cant say ive ever come across this guy will look out for him , about the ciggi lighters what if one got into the wrong hands its so easy to set the plane on fire its frightning :blink:

We usually buy from the same guy - usually in the Barbacoa - got a really cool guitar shaped one last time - can't remember if it was put in cases or hand luggage though!!
