The forum has an automatic banning system. Breaking a forum rule gets you a yellow card that lasts for 10 days. 3 yellow cards together gets you a red card = banned for 28 days.
The rules are simple and hopefully obvious:
Don't insult other forum members on any part of the forum, via private messages, publicly in threads or on their profile or albums pages. Be critical if you feel you must but keep it civil. If you receive an insulting private message, admins and mods don't see them so you must report the user and forward a copy of the message to us.
Do not post links to web sites that require a viewer to be over 18 years of age. Also, do not upload pornographic pictures - this one gets you a red card straight away! If you have a holiday photo that you think might be a bit risky, don't risk it!
Do not chat in threads. Chat in the chat forum, in the profile pages and the regular, established members have the chatbox, plenty of places to chat other than the public forum where threads should be full of informative posts that stay on topic.
Do not start a new thread before searching the forum to see if a thread on the topic you want to post about already exists. Add to existing threads rather than starting new ones where possible. No yellow card for this but your post might be merged into an existing thread if applicable.
Do not advertise your own or a friends business just for the sake of advertising. Use www.canaryplaces.com (http://www.canaryplaces.com) to do that which is our "links section". We will allow a subtle comment or two or small image in signatures. Additionally, sorry but no advertising private accommodation without getting in touch with me first; "conflict of interest" thing as that is part of my business. No advertising airport transfers unless it/you are licensed by the government.
Don't make uninformative, off-topic posts just to get your post-count higher so you can use additional features of the forum reserved for established members. You'll get banned before you get there! The odd one or two such posts we will delete with no yellow card but if we notice anyone in particular constantly doing this, the yellow cards will start. If you want to say "thanks" for a post somebody else made, click the "thanks" button at the bottom-right of that post
Do not answer a post with a new post that only says "thanks" - use the "Thanks button" located bottom right of the post
If you want to use additional features such as the chat-box or arcade, you need to be a regular, established visitor to the forum and have contributed a lot of useful stuff for people. Currently a postcount of 20 or more is required.
