Does it work out cheaper if I walk into the airport and ask for a flight say for tomorrow? Do they still have bargains that way?

As far as i am aware they have stoppped you doing that in Britain, due to the security risk of people loitering for hours on the off chance of getting a cheap flight.
I could be wrong though:shutup:

there is a desk in LP airport that gives last minute flights - acehandling I think. I have the number at work but someone said that skyscanner can work out just as cheap for real last minute stuff

Can't remember what the airport prices are but as far as I know (unless changed) they are fixed at around 90 euros one way say to the UK and yes, you can often get them cheaper during the quieter times on the Internet.

That's a fantastic price! I bet it's from London?! I've been pricing flights for flying out on either the 27th or 29th December and the return fare is over £500 from Glasgow! :blue:

It still depends on when you can go, easyJet came up at £715 for 2 people on the 27th December for 1 week, nearly £350 more than we paid for Iberia when we booked in February. It seems easyJet are only cheap outside of peak times.

I was booked to go to Glasgow last year but was due to fly to Gatwick and then wait around for a BA connection. When I arrived at the airport I saw a number of direct charter flights on the board due to leave within 2 hours. I went to the desk of, I think, Thomson, and asked if there were any spare seats. They gave me a UK number to call and, having called this, I was told that there were a few seats spare even though online the flight was showing as fully booked. The price quoted was very reasonable so I decided to forget about the flight via London, lose the money, but save around 5 hours travelling time. Therefore, if you have the luxury of being able to travel last minute, it might be worth ringing the charter companies on your preferred day of departure.

Not suitable for most I know but worth knowing.

It highlights the rip off for people that can only travel between 24th Dec and 3rd Jan. Wish we could travel earlier and return later.
