As some know i have booked to go to Turkey next year. I've never flown with a small baby or holidayed with 1 so i wanted some advice on a few things. (im panicking now and wondering whether to cancel unless you lovely people can reassure me) :)

Im not sure whether K will still be on formula at 1 year. I can come to that as and when.

Will K have her own suitcase.? How many nappies do i pack or should i buy them over there? Do you take your own jar food or feed her what we eat?

Im clued up on the sun protection and stuff so thats not a problem. Do i need to take a car seat with me?

I have loads of questions i am worrying over but my mind has gone totally blank.

I shall be back.. :) lol

And I thought you were coming to see me:blue: when we travelled with the kids when they were little I took a certain amount of nappies and then bought hte rest in resort as they are bulky to pack. If she gets her own seat then she will get her own luggage allowance, are you hiring a car? If not then you wont need a seat and take an old buggy as the airport staff do throw them around. Vicky is the best one to answer this as she travels with her kids and is very organised lOL

LOL Lou yep ive always taken my babies on holiday.
Infact oddly Declans first hol was turkey 2 days after he turned one.
They dont get a luggage allowance atall all they carry is the buggy free and Lou is right dont take your best pram!
I found some rubbish nappies abroad so normally try and pack enough i just lined my cases with them.......you need to pack her clothes into your luggage allowance but ive always found it do able to be honest.

I kept D on forumla milk on purpose as i knew if he found the heat an issue or anything he would always drink his milk and i know milk in other countries can taste different so i packed him 2 small cartons of SMA milk per day so i took 28 they are heavy and do take up your luggage allowance but i thought it was worth it (again thou we were in an All inclusive cut off from loads of shops etc if you are going somewhere with shops you might be able to buy the brand she is on.
I also packed some pots of Pura fruits as they dont have to be kept in the fridge.
Other than that i personally only ever feed my kids same food as us anyway so i didnt take any baby food as they didnt eat it.
You can always get bread, cheese meats, pastas etc for them.
Never bothered with a car seat just sat him on my knee in the coach and when we come to GC we get a taxi off owen with a seat for him.
Best thing i bought was a PEPENY sunshade its fab give brilliant protection from the sun and also keeps the buggy dark of a night when you are out so they can sleep.........he was asleep everynight in buggy from 7pm.
Also those sun protection swim suits are the best invention ever you only need to cream there exposed parts then.

If i can help anymore just shout out!!!!!

Oh and try and keep her as a non walker lol your holiday will be so much more enjoyable if she cant walk (arent i a mean mummy!)

Our son was 5 months when we first travelled with him - to GC actually.
I packed enough nappies to last. I always had to buy a pack here as he would have a touch of diarrhoea or someone would think it was a good idea to play with him in the water with a nappy on - but I would buy the cheaper nappies here, so they were just for emergencies.
He lived off jars of food anyway - I wasnt the type to make all my own baby food and I would get cross if i'd spent ages making something that he wouldnt eat. So, jars were fine to buy.
He was bottle fed anyway. I had a small cool bag to keep made up milk in. My spanish friends were horrified that I would give him his milk straight out of the bag, and not warmed up.

The 2 best things we had were a carry tot - one of those chairs that act as car seat, carry about seat, high chair......
and a paddling pool. We would line it with towels or a sheet and put it in the shade. Then if he rolled over, he wasnt going to roll into the sand - sand and nappies/eyes can be very uncomfortable.

Thanks for the advice guys, much appreciated.

What about the water. Do i boil there tap water or buy bottled water, and boil it.?

What do 1 year olds drink. Do i take my own juice and buy bottled water? I can't believe i am asking this as i am a mum to Dan, but i have kinda forgot

Boil bottled water if you want it for milk feeds.
Juice wise i just used robinsons no added sugar and made it up with bottled water.
