Customs and the ferry

Does anyone know what paperwork will be asked for if my hubby gets stopped driving off the ferry? Some people have said he just drives off others have said he will be stopped and asked for every single document he owns?? I know because he is bringing the dog he will more than likely be stopped or once the dog is checked in at Cadiz do they not check his paperwork again?

Want to make sure he's got the right stuff?
