hi swanny
transportation of pets vary from boat to boat but below is a part of the transcript from acciona trasmediterranea which leaves the responsibility of feeding and watering of pets in owners hands in a designated part of the ferry anyway below is what trasmed says
.................................................. ....................................

Transport of pets In accordance with the applicable legal provisions, transport of pets shall exclusively be carried out in the spaces of ships provided for this purpose. Blind persons may be accompanied by their guide dogs, according to their specific regulations at no extra charge.

The charge for carrying pets varies according to the line.

The passenger must carry the certificates of their pets, as prescribed by the Health Authorities.

The food and care of the pets whilst on board shall be the responsibility of their owners
The Jet Foil high-speed ship, on the Las Palmas de G.C. – S.C. de Tenerife – Morrojable (Fuerteventura) line does not have cages for carrying pets.

The Superferrys and Juan J. Sister have a restricted area on deck where passengers may take their pets out for a walk during the crossing.

The Juan j sister is the cadiz to las palmas ferry possibly the one you are booked with.
