Bikes And Mopeds - Gran Canaria

Another popular way of getting around, especially by the locals, being mopeds and motorbikes, the only place in Puerto Rico to hire them from can be found at the front of the main commercial center. Whilst the climate and layout of the resort and surrounding areas can make this an ideal means of travel, I should point out that most of the roads around Puerto Rico don't allow cars to overtake mopeds with plenty of space if there's oncoming traffic. You'll need to bring your driving license with you too.

Using a moped around Maspalomas or Playa del Ingles is a much better idea though, Playa del Ingles has pretty wide roads and slower traffic and Maspalomas wide roads still and little traffic. The area around both is on the flat so you're not chugging up hills at 5km an hour.

There's a lot of places around Playa del Ingles and a couple at Maspalomas where you can rent motorbikes and cycles but I can't remember them now and it's on my list of things to do. I do remember there's three different places around the Chapparal commercial center so there's a start.
