Gran Canaria |
Set off the west coast of Africa, just 67 miles from the Western Sahara, The Canary Islands, and in particular Gran Canaria, enjoys sunshine every week of the year. With a tropical climate to the south, a fresher climate to the north & fresher still in the centre, the island of Gran Canaria is known as a "continent in miniature".
Being so close to the Sahara and receiving hotter weather than any other part of the island are the large, lively and popular resorts of Puerto Rico, Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles. More coves along the southern coast of the island is home to some smaller, more peaceful resorts.
Whether you're part of the young fun crowd, the golden oldies or somewhere in between; traveling alone or with your family and children; looking for a peaceful relaxing break in the sun or something more adventurous from golfing holidays to water sports and world windsurfing championships, there really is something for everyone on the island.
Within these pages I hope to give you all the information you'll need for a holiday in Puerto Rico, Maspalomas, Playa del Ingles or any other destination on Gran Canaria, whether you're booked to visit the island already or looking for a destination. You'll also find lots of information, ideas, reviews & more not just for the resorts around the island but the towns, city of Las Palmas and everything and everywhere in between.
